Social media rules are changing in Australia and harmful content is only one tap away.
I help Adelaide parents lock down home Wi-Fi and kids’ devices so they can scroll, study
and chat with age-appropriate, safer access.
✅ Block adult content, gambling & dangerous websites at the router.✅ Set age-appropriate access for under-16s and teens turning 16.✅ Help stop kids bypassing rules with VPNs, private browsing and “secret” apps.
Most homes are not set up for the new social media rules. One visit can bring your
family up to speed and give you more peace of mind.
Quick 60-second overview
Showing you what I do and what you'll get out of a home visit.
🎯 What gets blocked (adult/gambling/violent content)🛡️ How you lock down devices (iPhone/iPad/Android/Windows)✅ What parents get after the visit (simple instructions)
Want this done for your home?

“I was so happy with the service Owen provided in setting up parental controls on my kids devices.
He talked me through options, based on the limitations I chose to implement. He was very polite and
efficient and arrived exactly on time. For the less tech savvy parents out there, I highly recommend
you give Owen a call!”
You wouldn’t let a stranger into your home without a lock on the front door. Leaving
kids’ devices unprotected is the online equivalent. The earlier you set this up,
the harder it is for bad content to slip through.
Important: No technical setup can guarantee that a child will never see harmful
content or make unsafe choices online. I focus on reducing risk and giving parents
better tools, not replacing active supervision, conversations or your own boundaries as a parent.
Everyday tech help (not just for kids)
If you simply need general tech support at home or in a small business, I still offer calm, patient help.
Alongside kids’ online safety, I’m available for straightforward tech visits around Adelaide.
This is ideal for parents, grandparents, students and home offices who just want things working properly.
$80 per hour (charged in 30-minute blocks after the first hour)
Wi-Fi, NBN and router issues (slow internet, drop-outs, new modem setup).
Light small-business help (home offices, sole traders, simple setups).
This general tech support is separate from my fixed-price kids’ online safety packages.
If you’re not sure which option fits you, just mention your situation when you call or message and
I’ll point you in the right direction.
How a home visit works
Calm, simple and transparent – I sit beside you, explain each step and leave you in control.
1
You reach out
Call, SMS or send a message with your suburb, kids’ ages and how many devices you’d like covered.
2
We choose a package
We decide together which package fits your family – under-16s, turning 16, or a device hardening bundle.
3
I secure your network & devices
I come to your home, configure the router and devices, and test everything with you on the spot.
4
You get clear next steps
You’ll leave with simple instructions and the confidence that things are locked down – with the option to book follow-ups later.
Who is Honest Owen?
A local uni student who takes kids’ safety seriously.
I’m Owen Cooper, a 20-year-old Mechanical Engineering student in Adelaide.
I’ve always loved technology – I built my first PC at 17 and have been the “family IT person” ever since.
After helping my own family lock down devices for younger siblings and grandparents, I realised how
overwhelming online safety feels for busy parents. Most guides are too technical and most people don’t
have hours to dig through router settings and safety apps.
Honest Owen Tech Support exists to fill that gap: a friendly person who comes to your home,
sits beside you and quietly locks things down so your kids can explore the internet with more safety – and
you can sleep a little easier.
I’m not a psychologist, lawyer or parenting coach. I don’t tell families how to raise their kids – I simply
provide technical support so that your existing rules and values have stronger backing from the devices
your children use every day.
